Class Schedule
Our classes are open and waiting for you! Whether a beginner or a pro, you are sure to have fun with the classes offered at Bismarck Sewing & Quilting! Read about the classes below and you can click on the images to view a larger detailed version. (When at the larger version use the back button in your browser to return to the class schedule.) Stop by or call 258-5139 to register for the class of your choice. Please look here in the future for upcoming classes.
Class fees are due at the time of registration. Please understand that registering for classes is your committment to us that you plan on attending, as we plan accordingly. Cancellations within 48 hours of class are non-refundable. Cancellations prior to 48 hours before classes will be refunded as store credit. Class supplies are not included in the class fees unless otherwise noted.

This & That Saturdays
Date: 2nd Saturday of each month
Time: 10:00 AM
Fee: $15 per session or $40 for 12 months
This & That Saturdays are what was previously the Breakfast Club. Join us the second Saturday of the Month (a few exceptions might apply) for a day of sewing with friends. Each month's project will be based on a This & That pattern. Some will be small projects where you could complete several in a day or some might be larger projects. We will have an instructor here to teach you. You are welcome to stay and sew all day until closing time. I f you pick your fabrics out ahead of class we will do our best at cutting them for you so you are ready to sew. Just bring in your sewing tools and sewing machine (you can use one of ours if need be), and we will provide the rest! It is always a fun day with sewing friends!!!

Baby Lock Serger Owners Class
Date: Thursday, Sept. 16th
Time: 6pm - 9pm
Fee: Free* but registration is required
*Class will be $50 if you did not purchase your serger at BSQ
This class is for all Baby Lock serger owners with jet-air or Extrodinair threading and automatic tensions. We will start with the basics of using your serger and expand into specialty feet and techniques. You need to bring your serger, your accessory feet, 4 spools of serger thread, and your instructions.
3-D Witches
Date: Saturday, September 18th
Time: 10:00 am until 4:00 pm
Fee: $20
These adorable witches have 3-D legs that swing as they ride their brooms. This project is just way too cute! Some pre-class work required.
Book with pattern required. (Same book that is used in the "Smiling Pumpkins" class--take both classes and save money)
Stained Glass Table Runner
Date: Saturday,September 25th
Time: 10-4
Fee: $20
Come and learn the technique of making stained glass quilting projects. This project uses fusible bias binding. You can make either project and both patterns plus more are in the required book.
The Pantie Project
Please join us for a night of sewing sanitary pads for these young girls. According to a letter written by these young girls, "Blook coming out every month is our problem. Boys laughing us every day and they say that girls blood come out because of abortion. Boys do not know God make girls to be blooding every month and not boys." The young girls also wrote, "Young girls marriage young because when you have baby in stomach no blood problem for 9 months until baby is birth. Blood is bad shame to us."
The pads are easy to make and require only flannel, terry cloth (old towels could be used), and snaps. The girls wash the pads out and reuse them.
This is a great way to use up smaller scraps of flannel and terry cloth. We will be needing donations of flannel, terrycloth and snaps so please help any way you can. You can drop off supplies if you can not make the evening event. Non-sewers are also welcome as we will need people cutting out patterns and applying snaps.
Smiling Pumpkins
Date: Thursday, Sept. 30 & Monday, Oct. 4th
Time: 6-9 both evenings (this is a 2 part class)
Fee: $20 plus supplies
Crazy Jack-o-lanterns to really make you smile. Just in time for the fall decorating season. These pumpkins are entirely pieced--NO APPLIQUE!
